ZOVA

Short version: Zova stores all your data locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or sell any personal information. We never see your data — ever.

1. Who we are

Zova is a free fitness and nutrition tracking app developed and maintained by an independent developer. You can reach us at zovafitnessapp@gmail.com.

2. Data we collect

We collect nothing. All information you enter into Zova — including your weight, height, calorie targets, workout logs, nutrition entries, and goals — is stored exclusively on your device using Android's local storage (AsyncStorage). This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to any server we operate.

3. Data we do NOT collect

No name, email address, or account credentials
No location data
No health or biometric data transmitted off-device
No usage analytics or crash reports sent to our servers
No device identifiers stored by us

4. Advertising (Google AdMob)

Zova displays short interstitial advertisements provided by Google AdMob to keep the app free. AdMob may collect certain non-personal information from your device to serve relevant ads. This includes:

Advertising ID (resettable in Android Settings → Privacy)
General device and network information (device model, OS version, IP country)
Ad interaction data (whether an ad was shown or closed)

Zova requests non-personalised ads only, meaning AdMob does not build a personal profile from your activity in Zova. You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time via Android Settings → Privacy → Ads.

5. Food database (Open Food Facts)

When you search for food by name or scan a barcode, Zova sends your search query or barcode number to the Open Food Facts public API to retrieve nutritional information. No personal data is sent — only the food name or barcode value. Open Food Facts is a non-profit open database. Their privacy policy: world.openfoodfacts.org/privacy

6. Children's privacy

Zova is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

7. Data deletion

All data is stored locally on your device. You can delete it at any time by:

Using the "Reset & start over" button inside the app (Profile tab), or
Uninstalling the app, which removes all locally stored data

8. Third-party links

Zova may contain links to the Google Play Store or other external sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
